Hand-loomed from eight-ply cotton in a chunky garter knit. The weight is the point — four and a half pounds, so it drapes over the arm of a sofa and stays there.
Cotton rather than wool, which means no itch, no moth risk, and a machine wash when someone spills on it.
Fifty by seventy inches covers one person properly on a sofa, or lies across the foot of a queen bed with enough left to fold.
It softens with every wash. Tumble low or lay flat; skip the dryer sheets, which flatten the loft.
