Rattan is woven by hand over a steel frame, which means no two shades close exactly alike. Lit, the weave throws a soft pattern across the ceiling and the walls nearest it.
The open cylinder shape keeps the light directional — bright on the surface below, gentle everywhere else. Two or three in a row over an island is the arrangement we see most often.
The canopy ships with 8 ft of black fabric cord, cut to any height at install. Hardware for sloped ceilings is in the box.
Works on a standard dimmer with a dimmable LED, which is how we would run it over a dining table.
